How to use Apple Watch Apple Pay

Set up Apple Pay on Apple Watch: Even if you've set up Apple Pay on your iPhone using the Passbook app, you still need to add the credit or debit card you use on your Apple Watch. Have your credit or debit card ready, then open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. Tap My Watch, tap Passbook & Apple Pay, tap Add a credit or debit card, then tap Next. If you have a supported credit or debit card on file in the iTunes Store or App Store, enter the payment card's security code. Otherwise, use your iPhone camera to capture the information on your credit or debit card, then fill in any other required information, including the payment card's security code. Please note that your card issuer may require additional steps to verify your identity. In this case, select the verification option, tap Verify, then tap Enter Verification Code to complete verification.

Add another credit or debit card: In the Apple Watch app on iPhone, tap My Watch, Passbook & Apple Pay, Add Credit or Debit Card , and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Select a default payment card: In the Apple Watch app on iPhone, tap My Watch, Passbook & Apple Pay, Default Card, then select the payment card you want to use .

Make a payment: Double-click the side button, swipe to change payment cards, then hold Apple Watch within a few centimeters of a contactless card reader with the screen facing the reader. Once the payment information is sent, it's confirmed with a gentle tap and a ring tone. Once your payment card information is sent, you'll see a checkmark and feel a tap.

Note

You can use Apple Pay on Apple Watch to make purchases at stores that support contactless payments. Just set up Apple Pay in the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and you can make purchases even when you don't have your iPhone with you.

If you unpair your Apple Watch, disable your passcode, or turn off wrist detection, you won’t be able to use Apple Pay.
