Fitbit Versa 2 swimming smart watch actual test: 18,000 meters long-term test, can also bind SIM card and credit card

Addiction Technology has previously conducted horizontal evaluations of swimming sports watches from various brands. Previously, we also obtained Fitbit Versa 2 for long-term testing. We tested it in the swimming pool of Daan Sports Center for 12 days, every day. Swim 1,500 meters, total 18,000 meters. I can tell you how you will feel if you really use this watch to go swimming. Is it true that swimming watches won’t get wet? What should I pay attention to when swimming? We'll tell you the answer in this article. Comfort is the first condition for a watch

If you ask me what is the most important key to buying a sports watch? My answer may be different from others. What I value is the comfort during exercise. Only when it can reduce discomfort during exercise will people want to use it for a long time, and then the function and accuracy. In terms of comfort, watches are limited by screen size and cannot be compared with bracelet products. If you are a user who wants as little interference as possible, then a bracelet will be more suitable for you. But if you want more digital applications, a watch would be a more compromised choice.

I think the Fitbit Versa 2’s wearing feel during exercise, paired with the original rubber strap, is above average. The interference is not great when swimming and water skiing, but if you wear it while sleeping, you will still feel some discomfort. What's surprising is that the rubber strap that comes with the factory is very comfortable during exercise, but after all, it is not a specialized sports strap. It will be more comfortable if you dry it a little after swimming. The breathability effect is similar to that of the "hole version" sports watch. There should still be some differences in the belt.

▲We have tested the Fitbit Versa before, but this time it is the more feature-rich Fitbit Versa 2.

▲The special edition is equipped with a woven strap and is available in large and small sizes.

▲In addition to the woven strap, a rubber strap suitable for sports is also included.

▲The charger is a clip-on design and charges through 4 contacts under the watch.

▲You need to clamp the watch when charging. The advantage is that it can be charged just by clamping it. It will not cause charging failure like wireless charging which may not be done properly.

▲There are 4 contacts at the bottom and a sensor for detecting heart rhythm.

▲The watch strap is of standard specifications, and compatible watch straps can be purchased outside.

▲The appearance of Fitbit Versa 2 is simpler without the logo, and the buttons are reduced from 3 on the previous generation to 1.

▲The bottom is Fitbit Versa 2. The two buttons on the right side of the previous watch have been changed to radio microphones.

▲The size of the buttons on the right side is slightly larger than that of the previous generation. Pressing it once will return to the previous page, and pressing and holding it can trigger Fit Pay or your customized functions. Long-term actual measurement at 18,000 meters

How does it feel to swim with Fitbit Versa 2? First of all, as mentioned earlier, there is not much interference. Some larger sports watches may get stuck when you swing your wrist, but this does not happen with Fitbit Versa 2.

Secondly, in terms of distance measurement, you can set the length of the swimming pool yourself, up to 100 meters. In the case of Daan Sports Center, the length of the water channel is 50 meters, but most swimming pools are used by many people. Based on past experience, the mixed situation of many people can easily cause the distance measurement of the watch to be inaccurate. Judging from our test results, the total distance of a single swim is 1,500 meters, and the maximum error is about 100 meters. However, if there are many people on the waterway and the steering movement is inaccurate, the error will easily increase.

As for swimming, the Fitbit Versa 2’s monitoring during exercise is a pity. During swimming, it only displays the exercise time and does not calculate the swimming distance in real time. After pressing end, the current exercise data will not be displayed. The data needs to be queried through the mobile phone, which I think is a pity.

▲It is more suitable to wear a rubber strap when swimming. It is more breathable than expected, but it will inevitably accumulate water in certain places. Perhaps a sports strap with holes will be more suitable.

▲After several months of use, the watchband will inevitably accumulate crystallized salts from exercise in the fine seams, but cleaning is very easy and can be wiped off with just a little wiping.

▲It is easy to accumulate dirt at the interface, but it can be easily removed with clean water.

▲Swipe right on the homepage to see icons of various functions. We choose sports.

▲A variety of sports are preset in the watch. Let’s choose swimming first.

▲Click on swimming to start exercise directly, but you can also set pool parameters or goals for this exercise.

▲You can set a target time during exercise, and you will be reminded when the time is up.

▲The length of the swimming pool can be set in the parameter section, up to 100 meters.

▲After turning on the exercise counting, you can view the current time and the time you have exercised. Unfortunately, the current length of swimming cannot be displayed.

▲Press and hold the button to pause. At this time, be careful not to touch the water, otherwise the continue and end buttons may be triggered.

▲If you choose to end, the accumulated exercise time will be displayed. If the accumulated exercise amount can be provided immediately on the settlement screen, the operation will be more convenient.

▲You can see daily exercise items and calories burned in the App. The settlement interface is more focused on comprehensive exercise rather than categorizing by exercise items.

▲For swimming, after clicking to enter, you will see the calorie consumption curve.

▲The system will tell you the calories consumed during this swimming session and the related effects.

▲Finally, it tells you the exercise value this time, how many times you swam in total and how long you were in total. Comprehensive sports smart watch

Judging from the App design of Fitbit Versa 2, Fitbit's sports watch is more inclined to use for comprehensive sports. It will list the exercises of each week at the same time and comprehensively calculate the exercise time of the week. , rather than some products that calculate sports events by category. For users with more diverse sports, this method will make it easier to see how much exercise they have done. However, for users with relatively simple sports, if you only want to view swimming events, walking will also be added to the list. Such movement results are a pity in terms of design.

As for the battery life, if it is only used for sending and receiving messages and simply counting steps, the actual power usage can last about 5 to 6 days, and charging on the weekend can continue to be used for work during the week. For example, if you exercise for 50 minutes each time, the battery consumption ranges from 3 to 5%. If you exercise three times a week like me, you can just charge it on the weekend.

▲In addition to swimming, there are also sports such as cycling, and can be used with a mobile phone to record the trajectory.

▲Altitude changes can be recorded through mobile phone GPS.

▲Speed ??changes are also recorded. Voice reply and one-card, credit card contactless payment

However, in addition to sports use, Fitbit Versa 2 has two very practical functions. The first is the voice reply function. When your watch receives messages from LINE, Messenger, etc., you can respond directly to the other party through voice, or you can directly press Like on the screen to reply.

Secondly, there is the Fitbit Pay service, which is available on many Fitbit products. You can directly press and hold the button to bring up the card page, and choose whether to use a card or a credit card to check out. Not only can you take the MRT or bus, it also supports credit card payment, and it is very convenient to pay with your card in department stores or restaurants.

▲The buttons on the left can be used to set shortcut functions. The default is to enable Fitbit Pay.

▲ Press and hold and enter the password to activate the card. At this time, you can pay by sensing the bus, MRT ticket gate or cashier. The balance will be displayed under the card, which is very convenient.

▲What’s special is that in addition to a card, it can also be bound to a credit card, making the watch function like a credit card.

▲Swipe up on the homepage and a list of messages will appear. Fitbit officially stated that there are still display problems with some traditional Chinese fonts, such as the "Addicted Technology Club" cannot be displayed.

▲After clicking on the message, you can choose to quickly click Like, or click Reply to reply to the other party's message with voice.

▲After clicking Reply, you can use voice to reply to the message. I think this is a very important and convenient feature of Fitbit Versa 2.

▲When typing voice, the icon will fluctuate as you speak.

▲After confirmation, you can press Send to send the message to the other party. Comprehensive sports-oriented integrated digital applications

The reason for buying a smart watch is to have more digital applications. For example, a larger screen allows you to see incoming calls and messages clearly, or you can use voice to quickly reply to messages. You need to take out your mobile phone, and in terms of digital economy, Fitbit Pay supports all-in-one cards and credit cards from 7 banks, which can be helpful in transportation or shopping.

Speaking of swimming alone, I personally think it is a pity that the information is presented. It is a flaw that the swimming distance cannot be seen immediately. However, if you consider various digital applications, the highly versatile Fitbit Versa 2 is still very attractive. After all, it can support all-in-one cards and credit cards, providing irreplaceable convenience in transportation and shopping.

Finally, the Fitbit Versa 2 body is available in carbon black, matte gray and rose gold. As for the original strap, the rose gold with the special edition navy blue woven pattern is very beautiful, but the disadvantage is , in addition to this color, when choosing other straps to match, the eye-catching rose gold is more difficult to match with other straps. If you like to change watch straps frequently, black or gray will match better. If you want to be different, special edition rose gold is a good choice.

▲Fitbit Versa 2 has much richer functions than its predecessor. It is more suitable for users who want to use it for comprehensive sports. Fitbit Pay, which supports all-in-one cards and credit cards, is also its selling point.
