1. Applicants
Chinese citizens and foreigners can join the unified application with their valid documents (ID card, residence permit, household register, military ID, passport, driver's license, etc.) Any public library serving the library can apply for free. Each person can only apply for one Shenzhen "Library City" reader card with a valid ID, and it can only be used by the person.
2. Application Instructions
(1) With a second-generation ID card, you can apply for the application by yourself at the self-service card application machine or the 24-hour self-service library service machine in the city block.
(2) Readers with other valid IDs please go to the main service desk on the first floor to apply manually. Readers must fill in the "Reader Card Application Form"
(3) Readers under 14 years old please Go to the children's service area on the first floor to apply. Children aged 3-8 must be accompanied by their parents when applying for a pass.
(4) Readers can apply for a virtual reader card through the "Shenzhen Library│Library City" WeChat service account (ssszln), and they must be in Shenzhen when applying for the card. The virtual reader's card is equivalent to a physical card, allowing you to use various services in the "Library City" and enjoy massive resources without leaving home.
(5) Those who hold cultural-themed credit cards and need to activate the reader card function can use their second-generation ID cards to go through the activation procedures at self-service card processing machines, main service desks, and 24-hour self-service libraries in urban neighborhoods. After activation, Its function is equivalent to the "Library City" reader's card.
3. Manual application process
1. Fill in the "Reader's Card Application Form"
2. Submit the completed form and certificates to the card application staff for verification.
3. Take electronic photos and enter information.
4. The procedure is completed.
IV. Service functions of the reader's card
(1) Reading: The certificate can be used to read past issues and newspapers; use computers and audio-visual equipment in the electronic reading area and use the wireless network of Yantian District Library.
(2) Borrowing: Use self-service borrowing and returning machines, 24-hour self-service library service machines in city blocks, or borrow and return Chinese and foreign books, audio-visual materials, Braille documents, etc. at the service desk.
(3) Pre-deposit fee: Readers can voluntarily deposit a certain amount of cash to facilitate the settlement of overdue fees, damage and loss compensation, and payment of self-service printing, self-service copying and other expenses.
(4) QR code reader’s card: Readers can follow each library’s WeChat ID or log in to Alipay City Service_Library Service, bind the reader’s card number, and generate a QR code reader’s card. When handling business, just scan the QR code to complete, no physical card required.
