Another name for homonym. Homophones refer to a group of words with the same sound, rhyme and tone, but completely different meanings. The syllables of a language are limited, and to express more and more objective things will inevitably produce some homophones.
Classification:
One kind is homonym, such as "hit" for knitting sweater and "hit from today";
The other category is heteromorphic homonyms, such as "hand" of "two hands" and "keeping promise". Another example: baoxian can be preservation, preservation, etc.
Homonyms with the same shape are not polysemous words: the meanings of each word of a homonym have nothing to do with each other, and several meanings of polysemous words have obvious derived meanings; Homophones refer to a group of words, and polysemous words refer to a word. Homonyms can be used to form homophonic puns in language. For example, Mao Zedong's word "Yangliu Qingsui" ostensibly describes willow catkins, but in fact it refers to two martyrs named Yang and Liu. Homophones with unrelated meanings in modern Chinese are many polysemous words with related meanings in ancient Chinese.
