Single foreign currency credit cards currently include Bank of China’s Great Wall International Credit Card (available in Hong Kong dollars, US dollars, euros, and pounds) and Shenzhen Development Bank’s single-currency international credit card (available in US dollars).
Other banks and Bank of China have dual-currency credit cards, one RMB and one foreign currency account, the most common ones are RMB/USD. China CITIC Bank issues RMB/Hong Kong dollar dual-currency credit cards, ICBC issues RMB/Euro credit cards, and Bank of China issues RMB/JPY credit cards.
You can apply as needed. Generally, proof of identity and financial resources are required, and some require a deposit. Details vary from bank to bank, and the bank shall prevail.
