The ninth encyclopedia of futures: investor suitability evaluation
What does 0 1 suitability assessment mean?

20 16, 17 In February, the China Securities Regulatory Commission issued the Measures for the Management of the Appropriateness of Securities and Futures Investors (hereinafter referred to as the Measures), which came into effect on July 20 17/year.

The Measures require futures companies to provide matching financial products or services according to investors' different property income, risk tolerance, investment experience, investment needs and different risk levels of products or services, and provide targeted products and differentiated services to investors. This is called "suitability assessment".

The core of appropriateness evaluation is "selling the right products to the right investors", which is essentially to protect investors, especially small and medium-sized investors.

What are the criteria for suitability evaluation?

Products and services are divided into five grades according to investment risks: R 1, R2, R3, R4 and R5.

Investors are divided into professional investors and ordinary investors, among which ordinary investors are subdivided into C 1, C2, C3, C4 and C5 according to their risk tolerance.

The risk level of different futures products is also different:

Commodity futures (including iron ore, palm oil, PTA and other non-crude oil specific varieties) belong to R3 level.

Financial futures, crude oil futures and options belong to R4.

What situations need to be evaluated for suitability?

Special reminder: customers who have completed the suitability assessment should also remember to re-evaluate the suitability if the relevant information changes significantly (such as property income, investment experience, investment demand, etc.). ).

Where is the suitability assessment conducted?

Natural person customers can apply for suitability assessment online through the futures company APP.

For the time being, corporate customers can only conduct suitability assessment offline. Please contact the account opening business department in advance for specific matters.

What if the appropriateness does not match?

If the risk level of the product or service that investors want to buy is higher than their risk tolerance, our suggestion is to suspend investment.

However, if investors still actively request to buy products with a risk level higher than their risk tolerance or accept related services (for example, C3 ordinary investors want to leapfrog the trading authority of crude oil futures), they need to sign the Risk Tips for Ordinary Investors to Buy Products or Services with a Risk Tolerance Higher than their own, so as to provide related services for investors.

Special attention: investors with the lowest risk tolerance can only buy or accept products or services with risk level of R 1 (Even if it has signed a warning letter of leapfrog purchase risk, it cannot be opened. )
