Jilin University Business School was established in 1993. After 10 years of development, there are now eight departments (accounting department, enterprise management department, finance department, human resources management department, e-commerce department, marketing department, tourism management department and credit management department) and three research institutes (applied economy research institute, business administration research institute and game theory and competition cooperation research institute).
At present, the business school has three doctoral degree-granting majors (jointly organized with the School of Economics) and 1 postdoctoral mobile station of applied economics, six master degree-granting majors (quantitative economics, business management, accounting, management science and engineering, industrial economics and finance) and two master degree-granting points (MBA and master of engineering (project management). Among them, the major of quantitative economics was rated as the national key discipline and the only key research base of quantitative economics of the Ministry of Education.
Business school has a team of interdisciplinary teachers who combine arts and sciences. Business schools attach great importance to academic exchanges with foreign countries. Nearly 40 teachers went to the United States, Germany, Japan, Canada, the Netherlands, South Korea, Britain, Hong Kong and other countries and regions to give lectures, cooperate in research and pursue degrees. The college has established formal cooperation and exchange relations with the University of Illinois in the United States, Curtin University of Technology in Australia, Otago University in New Zealand and Seoul National University in South Korea. At the same time, the business school has also hired many overseas celebrities as honorary professors or visiting professors, such as Professor Stiglitz, winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics and former vice president of the World Bank; Professor Liu Zunyi, a world-renowned Chinese economist and president of the Chinese University of Hong Kong; Professor Naoki Morikawa, former chief expert of Tokyo Grain Commodity Exchange, Japan, and so on.
Business schools have excellent learning and research conditions and advanced office facilities. There are library, Shenzhen-Hong Kong microcomputer laboratory, CPA laboratory, MBA multimedia case room, Morikawa stock and futures trading simulation laboratory, etc. In addition to various scholarships offered by the school, the business school also offers Shenzhen-Hong Kong Scholarship, Scholarship, Morikawa Scholarship and Guang Xiao Scholarship. More than 30% students can get scholarships every year.
