Is there price manipulation in futures?
Because the varieties involved in futures are more specific and have a great relationship with the current spot market, and the spot price has to be adjusted according to the relationship between supply and demand, it is theoretically possible to manipulate the price, but it is more difficult to operate in practice. Unlike stocks, stocks are a way to raise funds, and investors take risks with the development of enterprises. However, futures is essentially a hedging tool and a zero-sum game, that is, the remaining money comes from losers, so the competition between long and short sides is fierce, which leads to the theoretical possibility of price manipulation. Because the special market of the futures market was rectified in 1998, one long and short party should not be allowed to arbitrarily suppress the other, which neither the market nor the country wants to see.
