Past lives are real. When Sakyamuni Buddha was alive, there was no need to emphasize that the six divisions in the karma wheel were real, because many practitioners were able to witness the truth of the six divisions in the karma wheel at that time, just like asking us if we believe that the earth is round now. Everyone has no doubt about the six points of the wheel of karma, but now we doubt the six points of the wheel of karma, because few people practice now and no one can witness the existence of the six points of the wheel of karma. At that time, the Buddha only explained to them the reasons for the formation of the six divisions in the karma wheel and the way to leave the six divisions in the karma wheel, which led to the practice of chanting Buddha's name and living in the western paradise.
