Brent is a light and low-sulfur crude oil, which is produced in Brent and Nizhnan oil fields in the North Sea and widely traded in futures, OTC swaps, forwards and spot spot markets. At present, more than 65% of the world's physical crude oil is linked to Brent system pricing. The loading port of Brent crude oil is Sullom Voe in shetland islands, Beihai.
The main users are refineries located in northwest Europe and the east coast of the United States.
In order to improve the effectiveness, liquidity and cost control of the spread trading between Brent crude oil and WTI crude oil, NYMEX set up a public quotation for Brent crude oil futures trading in the trading hall of Dublin.
The rest of the time is traded on the NYMEX ACCESS electronic system platform. The public bidding time is from 10 to 7: 30 pm Dublin time, and the electronic trading time of NYMEX access system is from 8: 00 pm15 to 9:30 am Dublin time.
