Grants need to be excellent in study and family conditions are not so good, and the key scores are higher. Poverty subsidies are allocated by the state to the provinces where they are located, and then distributed downwards by the provincial level, which requires an audit process. It is also divided into different cities and different school hours. Scholarship and poverty allowance are not exactly the same concept. Although grants can help poor students complete their studies, their purpose is to reward their academic achievements and potential, rather than simply providing poverty subsidies.
Scholarships are a way to reward students' academic achievements and potential. It is usually based on the evaluation of students' academic performance, leadership, volunteer service, etc., rather than the simple family economic situation. Therefore, even students with better family economic conditions have the opportunity to get grants. In addition, grants are usually given to students receiving higher education, not to primary and secondary school students. Poverty subsidy is a kind of financial aid for students from poor families. Such assistance may include waiving tuition fees, providing tuition and miscellaneous fees, providing teaching materials and providing transportation subsidies. These assistance can help students overcome their family financial difficulties and give them the opportunity to continue their education.
The application conditions for national student loans are that full-time undergraduates in ordinary colleges and universities, including vocational college students, second bachelor's degree students and graduate students, can apply for national student loans if they meet the following conditions:
1, family financial difficulties;
2. Those who have China nationality and have reached the age of 16 must hold Chinese identity cards;
3. Minors with full capacity for civil conduct must obtain the written consent of their legal guardians when applying for national student loans;
4, honest and trustworthy, law-abiding, no illegal behavior;
5. Study hard and finish your studies normally.
To sum up, although the purpose and evaluation criteria of grants and poverty subsidies are different, they are all aimed at helping students overcome difficulties and get a better education. In practice, these two funding methods can be used alternately to ensure that all students can get fair opportunities.
