Those who need to return to China one month or more in advance due to their own or other reasons within the original study abroad period (you don't need to apply for booking directly within one month in advance) must apply for returning to China in advance. The time limit for applying for early return to China can only be in months, and once the application is approved, it cannot be changed.

1. Application materials

After submitting the application for returning to China in advance online, the national public students need to collect the following materials and send them to the education department (group) of their embassy (consulate) at one time. Your application will not be accepted until the teacher in charge receives the paper materials (the paper materials need to be delivered two months in advance):

1. My application letter (stating the specific time of arrival in the United States, the duration of study abroad and the reasons for application)

2. Letter from foreign tutors agreeing to return to China in advance;

3. An official letter from the domestic sending unit agreeing to return to China in advance (such as the seal of the personnel department, international department or graduate school of the unit, with the fax number of the relevant department attached), which must have an official document number;

second, the application needs to know that

once the application for returning to China in advance by the state-sponsored students is approved, it is equivalent to the change of the study abroad period, and the period of their living expenses assistance is shortened accordingly. For example, if the duration of studying abroad is 12 months and the duration of funding is 12 months, if you apply to return to China four months in advance, once approved, the duration of studying abroad and funding will become eight months, which cannot be changed in the future.

The application for returning to China in advance by public students cannot be booked for the time being before the consulate accepts it. After the consulate accepts it, it can be booked within one month before and after the new end date of studying abroad. After determining the date of returning air tickets, we will settle the living expenses according to this date. For example, the original end date of studying abroad was August 1th, and if you apply to return to China two months in advance, the end date of studying abroad will be changed to June 1th after being approved, and the applicant can book a return air ticket between May 11th and July 1th. If you buy an air ticket on May 2th, your living expenses will be paid until May 2th. If you buy an air ticket on June 2th, your living expenses will only be paid until June 1th.

Third, the approval process

after being approved by the education section, applicants can book air tickets, apply for issuing tickets, and settle their living expenses according to regulations. However, it does not mean that the application for returning to China in advance has been formally approved. Only after the approval of the Fund Committee or the Chinese Academy of Sciences will the application be officially approved.
