During the period from 65438 to 2005, we commended, rewarded, supported, consoled and subsidized more than 6,800 people who were courageous, and the expenses for rewarding, consoling, subsidizing and publicizing were more than 80 million yuan. In recent years, in order to vigorously carry forward the spirit of being brave and promoting the construction of socialist spiritual civilization, our association has actively carried out a series of large-scale activities such as publicity and commendation with great social influence. Up to 2005, the Foundation, Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, the Central Committee for Comprehensive Management and the Ministry of Public Security jointly held eight national commendation conferences for advanced courageous people, conducted the first national top ten courageous heroes selection, and drafted the Regulations on the Protection of Rights and Interests of the State (Draft). * * * More than 2 100 advanced figures were rewarded, and bonuses and pensions of more than 20.5 million yuan were distributed. The original capital of our association is 8 million yuan, which comes from social donations.
