He has played an important role in uniting the domestic forces in the history of science and technology and strengthening alliances and cooperation with the international history of science and technology.

Eight foreign historians of science, including the late Dr. Joseph Needham from the United Kingdom, Professor Kiyoshi Yabuuchi from Japan, and the famous physicist and Nobel Prize winner Professor Yang Zhenning, have been appointed as honorary professors by the institute.
