The Fund History of Bailey Martin Foundation
From 65438 to 0996, Mr. Martin Gordon, a British banker, former vice chairman of ubs warburg and the most outstanding medal winner of the British Empire, walked the last mile of his life with Barry Chen, an AIDS patient in China, at Dawn Hospital in London. Realizing that Bailey Chen didn't know much about AIDS and died young in Hong Kong, Martin Gordon decided to set up a foundation named after them in Britain, namely Barry Martin Foundation (Barry &; Martin Trust (charity registration number: 1062629) helps China to fight AIDS.

At first, Martin Gordon, the founder of the foundation, worried that it might be difficult for the foundation to be fully recognized by the China government. However, the trip from 65438 to 0997 strengthened his confidence, and the Ministry of Health of China expressed its willingness to cooperate with the Foundation. In May of the same year, the first British-Chinese AIDS seminar sponsored by the Foundation was successfully held in Beijing, and a group of British AIDS medical experts came to China to introduce the clinical experience in Europe and America.

From 65438 to 0998, Martin Gordon decided to sponsor several China medical staff to study and train in British hospitals every year, and established close contact with his alma mater, the AIDS Laboratory of Oxford University.

In 2000, the Foundation decided to hold an annual training course on AIDS treatment and nursing in China. In the same year, the Foundation established the Barry Martin Award (Barry &; Martin Prize).

In 2005, Martin Gordon decided to set up an AIDS demonstration clinic in beijing ditan hospital.
