The designed social assistance project is a consortium composed of China Social Assistance Foundation, Beijing Zhong Jian Architectural Design Institute Co., Ltd., Art College of China Women's University, School of Architecture and Urban Planning and Design of Beijing University of Technology, and School of Gender and Development of China Women's University. It is committed to promoting the construction of the assistance system for "empty nesters" and "left-behind children" in rural areas of China, and will devote itself to the innovation of assistance mode and the design and research of assistance products, thus promoting the development of social assistance in China.
With the acceleration of China's social and economic development, the imbalance between rural areas and cities in all aspects of social security has led to many problems in rural areas with rapid economic development. The living conditions, health and education of empty nesters and left-behind children have aroused widespread concern from the government and society. The government is taking corresponding measures, and social forces are actively participating in it, making various attempts on specific solutions and models. How to explore the rescue mode to meet their needs and living security has become an urgent problem to be solved.
The design of social assistance project will focus on the needs of "empty nesters" and "left-behind children", aiming at solving the practical problems in all aspects of the lives of the elderly and children under the phenomenon of empty nesters in rural areas, starting from the most fundamental local reality that needs assistance, aiming at safety, health and education, thinking about the operation mode suitable for the rural security mechanism, exploring the means and innovative methods of using design thinking, and exploring the potential of improving the lives of the elderly and children. Through design, we seek more suitable ways to help, change poverty through design, improve life in poor rural areas through design, and let the elderly and children in poor areas get more humanitarian care through design.
Through on-the-spot investigation and exploration, the concept of "design helps social assistance" will be popularized throughout the country and even around the world, so that more designers, enterprises, groups and individuals can participate, realize the sustainability of activities, establish different concerns and themes every year, and realize the long-term development of this plan.
Hong Tao, CEO of social assistance project, senior consultant of China Social Assistance Foundation and design director of Beijing Zhong Jian Architectural Design Institute Co., Ltd., expounded the management and operation concept of the project. He particularly emphasized that the design of social assistance projects is an open model. It is to let more people participate, become volunteers and pay attention to poverty in the process of social development. Designing social assistance projects will help to improve many existing problems in rural areas. Through this way of design boosting, people realize that design is also a way of social assistance. Starting from their own abilities and self-worth goals, volunteers seek the possibility of mutual benefit and win-win between themselves and public welfare objects, and establish a more sustainable and efficient model. From the perspective of enterprises, applying the unique skills and resources of enterprises to the field of public welfare, realizing the sharing of enterprise benefits and social values, and establishing a mutual promotion sharing mechanism will create new driving forces for public welfare.
How to build a brand-new project brand and an efficient, open and fair relief system for modern charity, and better serve the recipients, caring enterprises and caring people, is a big challenge for modern charity with China characteristics. We need a more comprehensive way and angle to look at and promote modern philanthropy. It is a pioneering and practical method and concept to look for innovative measures and social assistance models with design thinking, and to look at and promote modern charity from the perspective of design thinking. We expect the China Social Assistance Foundation to design social assistance projects, explore innovative models to solve the problems of "empty nesters" and "left-behind children" in rural areas, and continuously improve the efficiency and sustainable development of social welfare through model innovation.
