The China Foundation for the Prevention of STD and AIDS was established in 1988. The honorary chairman of the Foundation is Ji Pengfei, former Deputy Prime Minister of the State Council, Fei Xiaotong, Wang Guangying, Wu Jieping, Xu Jialu and Qian Xinzhong, former Minister of Health.
The president of the Foundation is approved by the Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China and the People's Bank of China, and the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China examines and registers and issues certificates. The legal representative of the foundation is the president. The foundation's first chairman was the respected former Minister of Health, Dr. Qian Xinzhong. The current president of the Gold Club is Professor Ceng Yi, academician of China Academy of Sciences, deputy director of the National Committee of Experts on AIDS Prevention and Control, president of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association and former president of the Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine. The purpose of the Foundation is: to abide by the national constitution, laws, regulations and policies, to abide by social ethics, to unite domestic and foreign forces, to carry out publicity, education and prevention research on sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS, and to make contributions to controlling sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS and benefiting mankind.
The main task of this foundation is to promote friendly exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and foreign academic groups and individuals in the prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS, and organize academic exchanges at home and abroad; Introduce relevant advanced prevention and treatment drugs, medical technology, instruments and equipment, and health care materials: support the prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS in China through various channels and forms, and support and carry out relevant scientific research, consultation, publicity and education; Raise and accept funds, materials and equipment donated at home and abroad to promote the prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS in China: accept the entrustment of relevant groups and individuals at home and abroad to undertake activities in line with the purpose of the Foundation. In view of the rampant international AIDS epidemic and the increasingly serious threat to China, China's current AIDS epidemic situation is grim. Since its establishment, as the earliest non-governmental organization for the prevention and treatment of AIDS in China, I took advantage of the convenience of social groups to assist the government in prevention and treatment in various forms, and used the funds raised to shoot the first popular science education video feature film "AIDS Tracking" in China. Received the "Special Award" issued by the Ministry of Health and distributed it to the whole country: cooperated with the Ministry of Health, Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine and other units to successfully hold the "China International AIDS Symposium"; The establishment of the "Small West Award Fund for AIDS Prevention and Control" will reward a number of outstanding workers and advanced collectives selected by the Ministry of Health, health systems of provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions and subordinate units of relevant central ministries and commissions to actively carry out AIDS research, education, publicity and prevention;
With the support of relevant departments, large-scale "AIDS prevention education exhibitions" were successfully held in Guangdong, Guangxi, Anhui, Beijing and other places: the professional periodical "International STD and AIDS Information" was founded and distributed to the whole country; Participate in seminars and lectures at all levels around the world and conduct extensive academic exchanges at home and abroad; Carry out investigation and research in high-risk areas and high-risk groups to popularize scientific knowledge of prevention and treatment: cooperate with many medical institutions to carry out scientific research on monitoring, diagnosis and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS, and provide professional technical advice and services; Through computer network and hotline, the Foundation has established extensive contacts with relevant experts, groups, organizations and scientific research units at home and abroad to answer difficult questions from the people. These social welfare activities, which are conducive to improving the quality of the people, enhancing people's self-protection ability and awareness of disease prevention, have been highly praised and welcomed by relevant leaders of the party and the state, international organizations and people from all walks of life. Legal basis:
Article 6 The State encourages and supports trade unions, the Communist Youth League, women's federations, the Red Cross and other organizations to assist people's governments at all levels in AIDS prevention and control.
Residents' committees and villagers' committees shall assist local people's governments at all levels and relevant government departments to carry out publicity and education on laws, regulations, policies and knowledge related to AIDS prevention and control, develop public welfare undertakings related to AIDS prevention and control, and do a good job in AIDS prevention and control.
