-Central South University
Central South University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education. It is a "double-class", "985 Project" and "21/project" construction university. Selected into the first batch of pilot universities of the "Strong Foundation Program" of the Ministry of Education and the pilot universities of eight-year medical education (doctor of medicine). It is the first active military officer university in China to train a master's degree in finger skills. Party secretary and principal Li took a group photo. The school motto is "unity of knowledge and practice, practical application".
As of September, 2022, the school property area was 310.7 million square meters, and the school building area was 210.9 million square meters. The school has 1 discipline and 1 undergraduate major, including 72 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 49 national first-class undergraduate courses and 65,438 online courses on the international massive open online course platform.
There are 4 demonstration projects of ideological and political courses in the Ministry of Education, 40 authorized points for doctoral degrees in first-class disciplines, 48 authorized points for master's degrees in first-class disciplines, 6 national key disciplines in first-class disciplines, 30 post-doctoral research stations and 6,069 faculty members.
Central South University was formed in April 2000 by the merger of Hunan Medical University, Changsha Railway Institute and Central South University of Technology. The former Central South University of Technology was formerly known as Central South Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, founded in 1952, and the former Changsha Railway Institute was formerly known as Central South Institute of Architecture and Engineering, founded in 1953.
The main disciplines of the two universities can be traced back to the course of Mining and Road in Hunan Higher Institute of Technology founded by 1903. Hunan Medical University, formerly known as Xiangya Medical College, was founded in 19 14 and is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning in western medicine in China.
Campus environment
Central South University is located in Changsha, a famous historical and cultural city in China, covering an area of 310.7 million square meters. Across the banks of the Xiangjiang River, near the majestic Yuelu Mountain and the Pentium Xiangjiang River, it has an elegant environment and pleasant scenery, and is an ideal garden for learning and seeking knowledge. The school has 30 secondary colleges, including Xiangya Hospital, Xiangya Second Hospital, Xiangya Third Hospital and Xiangya Stomatological Hospital, and enjoys the reputation of "Southern Xiangya".
