Quanzhou, referred to as "Licheng" for short, alias "Licheng", "Erythrina City" and "Wenling", is located in the southeast of Fujian Province, bordering Fuzhou in the north, Xiamen in the south and Bao Dao in Taiwan Province Province in the east. It has jurisdiction over four districts, three county-level cities, five counties, Quanzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone and quanzhou taiwanese investment zone. It is one of the three central cities in Fujian Province and has the third national comprehensive financial reform pilot zone.
Quanzhou is one of the typical areas of reform and opening up in China 18. It has been rated as "International Garden City", "National Garden City", "China Brand City that Moves the World" and "Best Commercial City in Chinese mainland", and won the "United Nations" Dubai International Best Model Award for Improving Human Settlements.
Quanzhou has a long history, which was developed during the Zhou and Qin Dynasties. It was established in Dong 'an County in 260 AD (Three Kingdoms Period). The Tang Dynasty was one of the four largest ports in the world, and the Song and Yuan Dynasties was the largest port in the East. Known as "the city of light" by Kyle Poirot. It is one of the first historical and cultural cities in the State Council, the cultural capital of East Asia, and the only starting point of the Maritime Silk Road recognized by the United Nations, with the famous "Eighteen Scenes of Quanzhou".
There are as many as 34 streams in Quanzhou, with a total length of1.620km, total surface water of 8.76 billion cubic meters, available water of 1.456 billion cubic meters, and hydropower reserves of 430,000 kilowatts. Jinjiang is the largest river in Quanzhou, which originates from the southeast foot of Dai Yun, flows through Yongchun, Anxi, Nan 'an, Licheng and Jinjiang, and flows into Quanzhou Bay. The total length of the water system is 404.8 kilometers, and the basin area is 5629 square kilometers. In addition, the groundwater resources in Quanzhou are 1 100 million cubic meters, and 76 million cubic meters of groundwater can be used.
