Gannan Medical College, referred to as "Gan Medicine", is located in Ganzhou City, a national historical and cultural city in the south of Jiangxi Province. It is the only independent general undergraduate medical school in Jiangxi Province. It has the right to confer master's and bachelor's degrees. It is a member of the Ministry of Education.

The school was formerly known as the Jiangxi Provincial Gan County Senior Midwifery Vocational School founded in 1941. In 1958, the Gannan Medical College was established. In 1988, it was upgraded to the Gannan Medical College and began to recruit undergraduate students. In 1993, it was granted the right to confer bachelor's degrees.

In 2013, it was approved as a master's degree-granting unit and began to recruit master's degree students in 2014.
