Li Zhong from Haidian District, Beijing, has recently become obsessed with raising chickens.
This old man who has lived in the imperial city all his life is very familiar with raising chickens.
Of course he does not raise chickens himself, but helps others raise chickens.
Last year, Uncle Li accidentally saw a photo on his grandson's mobile phone: in a dilapidated thatched house, a peasant woman was hatching chickens on her own kang using a quilt.
"I immediately remembered the eggs on the kang. Later I found out that the fellow had no way to buy equipment because of a shortfall of several thousand yuan, so he could only hatch chickens on the kang, and the family couldn't even sleep."
That picture comes from the Xiangxin Financial Charity Farming Platform, and the peasant woman in the photo is a borrower supported by this platform.
So Uncle Li started lending through the platform, and currently supports 12 farmers.
Their average loan amount is only more than 10,000 yuan, but it is this money that turns their lambs into flocks and their chicken coops into chicken farms.
What makes Uncle Li even more happy is that not only can he know from the platform which farmers he has lent money to, but he can also continue to witness them getting rid of poverty and becoming rich.
Introduce social idle funds into the vast rural areas and provide financing services for low- and middle-income farmers. Xiangxin Finance is a public welfare and agricultural assistance network platform under the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation and Zhonghe Rural Credit Project Management Co., Ltd.
Zhonghe Rural Credit Finance has been deeply involved in rural finance for more than 20 years. It currently conducts microfinance business in 21 provinces and autonomous regions across the country. It is the only borrower recommendation agency of Xiangxin Financial.
Xiangxin Finance makes full use of the convenience, speed and flexibility of the Internet platform to introduce idle social funds into rural areas and provide small, simple and accessible financing services to rural low- and middle-income groups.
Fan Zhongfang and his wife from Zuoquan, Shanxi Province are one of the farmers Li Zhong helped.
In the past few years, Fan Zhongfang and his wife have taken out eight loans, all of which were used for chicken raising projects.
Although there have been twists and turns such as fires in chicken farms, epidemics, and chickens freezing to death, with the help of Zhonghe Rural Credit Union, the number of chickens has gradually grown from the initial 1,000 to the current 15,000, and the chicken house has grown from the original 200 square meters.
It gradually expanded to the current 3,600 square meters. Today, Fan Zhongfang and his wife have successfully escaped poverty and become rich, and their son has also gotten married and started a family.
