Jilin Art College is the only comprehensive art college in Northeast China. The predecessor of the school was Lu Xun College of Literature and Art of Northeastern University in 1946. In 1958, Jilin Art College was established. In 1978, it was renamed Jilin Art College. In 1993, it was awarded the master's degree. In 1995, it became the first batch of institutions with provincial key disciplines in Jilin Province. In 22, it became a high-level university with Jilin characteristics.
