The China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation was established in 1989. It is a national poverty alleviation public welfare organization registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs and supervised by the State Council Poverty Alleviation Office. With support from all walks of life, as of the end of 2013, it had raised a total of 9.57 billion yuan in poverty alleviation funds and materials, benefiting 17.8305 million poor people and people in disaster areas. It has become the largest and most influential public welfare organization in the field of poverty alleviation in China. The China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation takes it as its mission to continuously discover and promote solutions to social problems.
