Deputy editor-in-chief of Journal of Plant Taxonomy; Permanent Editorial Committee on Biodiversity; Invited editor of the editorial board of Flora of China; Member of the National Scientific Committee on Endangered Species. Since the sixth five-year plan, he has participated in many projects funded by the state and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. At present, he has participated in the national key basic research and development planning project "Biodiversity Change, Sustainable Utilization and Regional Ecological Security in the Yangtze River Basin", the major project of Chinese Academy of Sciences "Ecological Effects of Alien Invasive Species and Comprehensive Control Measures" and the National Natural Science Foundation project. Thirty-eight field scientific expeditions (9 of them) were carried out in more than 20 provinces and regions in China. More than 300 plant specimens11were collected by individuals (mainly kept in PE), 90 insect specimens (kept in Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences) and 26 insect fossil specimens (kept in Beijing Museum of Natural History). Mainly engaged in: classification of Gesneriaceae, Utriculariaceae, cactus, plantain and other groups; Research and protection of plant resources; Coevolution of angiosperms and insects; Study on alien invasive species. Two new genera, more than 60 new species and new combinations were published, and more than 10 new records of plant distribution in China were found, as well as new resource plants such as horseradish in China. He has published more than 50 papers in core journals at home and abroad (including 13 SCI journals) and participated in the compilation of more than 30 works. He has successively won the Beijing Youth Science and Technology Award, the advanced worker of China Academy of Sciences, the first prize of young scientist of China Academy of Sciences, and six provincial (ministerial) science and technology achievement awards.
