The exam focuses on the following three new areas:
People-emphasize skills and activities related to effectively leading the project team;
Process-strengthening the technical field of project management;
Business environment-emphasize the link between project and organizational strategy.
The content runs through the scope of value delivery (including forecasting, agility and mixed methods) and is distributed in three examination fields. The new PMP exam will continue to use PMBOK Guide-6th Edition as a reference.
Important: The research conducted through task analysis proves that today's project management practitioners work in various project environments and use different project methods. Therefore, PMP certification will reflect this and cover various methods in the whole range of value delivery. About half of the content in the exam will reflect the forecasting method in project management, and the other half will reflect the agile method or mixed method. Predictive methods, agile methods and hybrid methods will be embodied in the three fields listed above, and will not be used in any specific field or task in isolation.
Other adjustments to the new exam include:
The exam topic is 180 (the previous exam was 200 questions);
The examination time is 230 minutes (the previous examination time is 240 minutes);
Topics will include multiple-choice questions and multiple-choice questions, and multiple-choice questions will explain how to choose several correct options.
