There is a private think tank in the UK called the New Economics Foundation (NEF).

This foundation was founded in 1986, and its current representative scholar is Andrew Simms, policy director who graduated from the London School of Economics.

In 2006, this foundation established a set of evaluation criteria to evaluate various countries on the earth. The evaluation results are called "The Happy Planet Index" (The Happy Planet Index), which some people simplify to the "Happiness Index."
