A series of large-scale public welfare activities have been held in Hong Kong, which is an important celebration to celebrate the15th anniversary of Hong Kong's return. It is also the first time that Hong Kong has held a large-scale event to publicize the UN Millennium Plan, aiming at promoting world peace.

Mr. Zhang Weixin, Chairman of the China Association for the Promotion of Democracy, served as a member of the presidium of the World Peace Prayer Conference and delivered a peace declaration at the World Peace Forum of the Conference.

The theme of the conference is "peace, fraternity and hope", which shows the pursuit of peace, fraternity and hope. The activity was fully supported by the leaders of the Hong Kong Government, the Central Government, the Liaison Office and many departments and institutions. With the strong support of the Hong Kong government, four gymnasiums in Victoria Park held large-scale charity carnivals with more than 654.38+0.5 million participants. The theme of the conference is to hold the awarding ceremony of the World Peace Prize and distribute 6,543,800 Jin of "Lucky Rice for World Peace" to the elderly, women and vulnerable groups free of charge. Many large-scale "pot dishes for thousands of people" were held to entertain more than 2,000 elderly people.

This meeting is the first time to be held in Hong Kong and the largest activity to promote world peace. The "Peace Conference" will publicize and publish the "Millennium Development Goals" according to the United Nations Millennium Declaration, and strive to promote and safeguard the basic values of international relations in the 2/kloc-0 century: freedom, equality, unity, tolerance, respect for nature and shared responsibility. So far, the "Peace Conference" has received congratulatory letters from senior officials of the China government, the US Congress, the finance ministers of the California government, mayors of various cities, and social celebrities. In September 2000, 189 countries formally made this commitment by signing the United Nations Millennium Declaration at the United Nations Summit. China has also actively responded to the United Nations initiative and made unremitting efforts to achieve the Millennium Development Goals.
