22 Table Tennis Tournament Restarted —— E-mail from CEO of ITTF

Steve Denton, CEO of ITTF, reviewed the restart of the event series.

Dear ITTF Executive Committee,

Dear ITTF Board of Directors,

Dear ITTF member associations,

Dear China Table Tennis Association,

Dear ITTF management, WTT World Table Tennis Federation management and ITTF Foundation management,

After 66 days' journey, our whole team is now on the way home. Personally, I'm really looking forward to meeting my wife and children. Before arriving, I want to share some thoughts and feelings with you.

wow, the past few months have been incredible.

We bring hope to table tennis and even the whole sports world-even in a crisis, we can overcome everything. When most Olympic events in the world are still trying to return to the international stage, table tennis has done it.

From conception to planning, to the approval of the Executive Committee led by Chairman Thomas Victor, until the event ended perfectly, we did it! We didn't have any health problems or any COVID-19 cases when we held the games during the epidemic.

all the people present and those who can't attend the event-behind-the-scenes hard work, sweat and tears, and the joy of seeing our favorite athlete back in the game compete for the honor of restarting the event series will become one of the important achievements of ITTF and table tennis. The players are also great. They have had a difficult year without major international competitions. What we have done is mainly for them, and we also thank them for their sacrifices.

but you should all be very proud.

without you, none of this would be possible. Even when I write this email, I am deeply moved by what you have done. For most of 22, we are just fighting for survival, but in the past few months, we have not only survived, but also done more. We have shown the vitality of table tennis to the world and have a very bright future.

thanks to China, thanks to China Table Tennis Association and thanks to Liu Guoliang. None of this would have been possible without China's full support for the Games and our sport. Our sport has a long history in China, and we look forward to continuing to work together for the development of table tennis all over the world. I also thank the German and Thai Table Tennis Associations for agreeing to change the World Cup to China.

Although some people are still worried about our development track, we need to continue to show the world our efforts, passion and professionalism. The most important thing is to ensure that everything we do is based on the interests of table tennis. If we can always ensure this, then we can prove that we are on the right path.

Now, we quickly turn our attention to 221, and now we have the confidence to successfully restart, and we will hold bigger and better events to restore all our activities to normal operation. We look forward to meeting you in Busan, South Korea and participating in the World Table Tennis Championships.

thank you again-you are all heroes.

table tennis hero.

table tennis, with the participation of the whole people, is endless.

Zhu An,

Steve Denton
