Jiangxi Agricultural University is a high-level university with the advantages of agriculture, the characteristics of biotechnology and the coordinated development of multiple disciplines. It has the right to award doctoral degrees, which is one of the first units in China with the right to award bachelor's degrees and master's degrees, and is the earliest university in Jiangxi Province to carry out postgraduate education. It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government, the State Forestry and Grassland Bureau and the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government, and is a national "Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in the Midwest". The school is located in Nanchang Economic and Technological Development Zone, with a total area of 6.5438+0.6 million mu. The campus has beautiful scenery and pleasant scenery.
This school has a long history. Running a school can be traced back to Jiangxi Industrial School founded by 1905, and 1908 was renamed Jiangxi Higher Agricultural School. Undergraduate education began with National Chung Cheng University founded by 1940, renamed Nanchang University by 1949, and established Jiangxi Agricultural College by 1952. 1958 founded the general school of Jiangxi * * * Productive Labor University, and 1968 changed its name to Jiangxi * * * Productive Labor University. 1969 Jiangxi Agricultural College merged with Jiangxi University of Production and Labor. 1980165438+10 was renamed Jiangxi Agricultural University in October.
The school education system is complete. There are 17 colleges with more than 28,000 full-time students (including independent colleges).
