Higher-order thinking refers to a complex, in-depth and advanced cognitive way, involving more abstract and complex concepts, problems and viewpoints. Compared with low-order thinking, high-order thinking needs stronger logical thinking ability, creativity and critical thinking ability, which can help people better understand and deal with complex problems.
Higher-order thinking usually includes the following aspects:
Analytical ability: able to decompose a large amount of information into smaller components and identify the patterns, laws and relationships between them.
Comprehensive ability: the ability to integrate knowledge, skills, experiences and viewpoints in different fields and produce innovative and unique solutions.
Creativity: Being able to discover new ideas, new methods and new concepts, thus generating new insights and new ideas.
Critical thinking: the ability to evaluate, analyze and reason information, so as to find logical loopholes, contradictions and prejudices.
Higher-order thinking is particularly important in modern society, especially in improving people's innovative ability, promoting the development of science and technology, solving complex problems and coping with challenges. People can cultivate their higher-order thinking ability through reading, writing, thinking and communication, and apply it to real life and work.
