First, the advantages of projects funded by the National Social Science Fund in the later period:
1, with sufficient funds.
The late projects funded by the National Social Science Fund are divided into key projects and general projects. Key projects mainly support research results with heavy academic weight and strong innovation, which have an important role in promoting the development of disciplines, and each funding amount is about 350,000 yuan. General projects mainly support research results with high academic value and certain innovation, and each funding amount is about 250,000 yuan. Key projects that do not meet the project requirements but meet the general project standards can be established as general projects. Excellent doctoral thesis publishing project mainly supports excellent doctoral theses with in-depth research, high degree of innovation and great development potential, and highlights scientific research support for outstanding young scholars. The amount of each subsidy is about 200,000 yuan.
2. Vigorously support scientific research.
The late-funded project of the National Social Science Fund and the excellent doctoral thesis publishing project aim to encourage the broad masses of philosophy and social science workers to carry forward the excellent style of study, devote themselves to study and do solid research, strive to introduce outstanding masterpieces with academic inheritance and innovative value, train a group of outstanding young scholars, and give full play to the demonstration and guiding role of the National Social Science Fund in the prosperity and development of philosophy and social science.
3. Vigorously publicize outstanding achievements in the later period.
After the results of later funded projects are published, our office will regularly select works with high quality and academic value, form the "Key Recommended Bibliography of Outstanding Publishing Achievements" of the National Social Science Fund, and publicize and promote outstanding achievements in various forms.
Second, the shortcomings of the projects funded by the National Social Science Fund in the later period:
1. Articles that need funding for outstanding achievements have not yet been published.
The later projects funded by the National Social Science Fund and the outstanding doctoral thesis publishing projects mainly support the outstanding academic achievements of philosophy and social science research that have been basically completed but not yet published. Mainly support academic monographs, but also support a small number of high academic value data compilation and high academic content reference books. 26 disciplines such as pedagogy, art and military science can apply for the National Social Science Fund.
2. Other matters not covered in these Provisions shall not be applicable.
The national scientific research projects undertaken by the applicant, such as the National Social Science Fund project and the National Natural Science Fund project, have not been completed, so it is impossible to declare the later funded projects of the National Social Science Fund.
3. The project completion time is 1-3 years.
During the implementation of the project, the person in charge of the project shall abide by the relevant commitments, fulfill the agreed obligations, and complete the research tasks on schedule. The approved project application is regarded as a binding funding contract text. The time limit for the completion of key projects and general projects is 1-3 years. The excellent doctoral thesis publishing project requires that it be revised and published before August 2022, and the applicant should complete the research work within the time limit.
4. Age limit.
Applicants for excellent doctoral thesis publishing projects should be under the age of 35 (1born after April 28, 1986), and the thesis must be written in Chinese and evaluated as "excellent" by the graduate school. The completion date is 18 from June to June 30, 2020 (subject to the date of defense). Under the same conditions, priority will be given to obtaining excellent doctoral dissertations at or above the provincial or ministerial level.
