The establishment of Taofen Journalism Award is to encourage journalists to inherit and carry forward Comrade Zou Taofen's lofty moral character and ideological style of sincerely serving the people. Zou Taofen is a great patriot, political activist, famous critic and outstanding journalist. In order to learn and carry forward Taofen spirit, 1987 established China Taofen Foundation, 1987 jointly held the first Taofen Publishing Award by China Publishers Association and China Taofen Foundation, and so far it has been selected for three times 1993. 1993 All-China Journalists Association and China Taofen Foundation co-sponsored the first Taofen News Award, and held a grand award ceremony in Beijing in February of that year.
