Requirements and related information of foreign language study funded by the National Fund for Studying Abroad in 2006

First, the foreign language conditions for applying for the national study abroad fund:

Those who apply for the 2006 National Scholarship Fund to study abroad shall meet the qualifications or application conditions stipulated by the Scholarship Fund Committee. Specifically:

(a) qualified conditions (meet one of the following criteria, can be sent directly after admission)

1. Take the National Foreign Language Proficiency Test (WSK) and meet the eligibility criteria (the results are valid for two years). Specifically:

① The total score of English PETS5 is above 55 (including 55), including listening 18 (including 18) and speaking 3 (including 3).

② The total Japanese/Russian score is above 60 (including 60), and the oral test score is above 3 (including 3).

③ The total score of German is above 65 (including 65).

(4) The total score of French is above 60 points (including 60 points)

2. Bachelor degree or above in foreign language major (the professional language should be consistent with the language used in applying for the country);

3. Studying in the same language country for one year or working continuously for more than one year in the past ten years;

4. I have participated in the corresponding language training in the overseas student training department designated by the Ministry of Education and obtained the certificate of completion (the certificate of completion is valid for two years), specifically:

English: certificate of completion of advanced class

French, Japanese, Spanish, Italian and Russian: certificate of completion of intermediate class.

German: certificate of completion of elementary German class and certificate of completion of advanced English class (science and engineering major)

German intermediate class certificate (social science major)

5. Applicants for master's and doctor's degrees should meet the requirements for foreign language entrance of the applicant institution;

(2) Application conditions

Those who meet the following standards in the National Foreign Language Proficiency Test (WSK) can apply.

① The total score of English (PETS5) is above 50 (inclusive).

② The total score of Japanese/Russian is above 50 (including 50).

③ The total score of German is above 55 (including 55).

(4) The total score of French is above 50 points (including 50 points)

If these applicants are accepted, they must participate in the relevant language training or take the National Foreign Language Proficiency Test (WSK) in the overseas student training department designated by the Ministry of Education, and be dispatched after obtaining the relevant training completion certificate or the test results reach the qualified standard.

The total score of English PETS5 test is above 55 (including 55), and the listening 18 (including 18). However, after being admitted, applicants who fail to meet the oral test standards must take part in the English oral test organized by the overseas training department designated by the Ministry of Education, and can only be sent after passing the oral test. The location of the oral test is beijing language and culture university or Shanghai International Studies University. The time of oral examination is determined by the relevant overseas training departments (generally in autumn 2006).

(3) If the project has special requirements for the applicant's foreign language level, it shall be handled according to the project requirements. For details, please refer to the 2006 National Scholarship Fund-sponsored Study Abroad Program Guide.

Two, the foreign language level does not meet the above qualifications or application conditions, if recommended by the unit, in principle, can also be declared. This part of the staff should try to provide proof that can reflect their foreign language level, such as TOEFL or IELTS, and their units should also explain the applicant's foreign language level when recommending.

Those who are accepted must participate in the relevant language training of the overseas student training department designated by the Ministry of Education or take the National Foreign Language Proficiency Test (WSK) on their own, and be dispatched after obtaining the training certificate or the test result reaches the qualified standard. Those who take part in the training must take part in the foreign language proficiency test organized by the relevant training departments before entering the school, and arrange the corresponding level of training according to the test results. Those who take part in advanced English class training must take a unified final exam.

3. Those who wish to participate in English training need to indicate the training place on the materials when applying, and the overseas study fund committee will arrange the training in a unified way. Those who do not indicate the training place are deemed to have taken the National Foreign Language Proficiency Test (WSK) by themselves.

Four, German, French, Russian, Japanese, Italian and Spanish did not meet the qualified conditions, in principle, by the overseas study fund committee unified arrangements to the training department designated by the Ministry of Education to participate in a semester or a school year of training, to obtain the relevant certificate of completion before being sent. Specifically:

(1) German:

Science and engineering: English (one semester, after Class Four)+German (one semester, after Class Three)

Social Science: German (one academic year, end of intermediate class)

(2) French: one academic year, complete the intermediate class.

(3) Russian: one academic year, graduated from the intermediate class.

(4) Japanese: one academic year, graduated from the intermediate class.

⑤ Italian: One academic year, the intermediate class ends.

⑥ Spanish: One academic year, the intermediate class ends.

Five, the status of studying abroad is a master's degree, a doctoral degree or a joint doctoral degree. The applicant's foreign language level must meet the professional admission requirements of foreign receiving institutions. If there are no language requirements in foreign receiving institutions, the foreign language level should meet the qualification standards stipulated in the 2006 foreign language condition statement of the National Fund for Studying Abroad and related materials.
