Coal preliminary survey in Chulun District, Hohnuoer Coalfield, Xinbarhuzuo Banner, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region

(1) Overview The exploration area is under the jurisdiction of Xinbarhuzuo Banner, Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, with a working area of ??1120.02 square kilometers.

Chulun District has a cold temperate arid steppe climate, with long and cold winters and short summers.

The transportation is more convenient.

This area is located in a remote area in eastern Inner Mongolia, with low productivity and sparsely populated areas.

Except for the relatively concentrated population in townships and villages, the residents are very scattered and mainly engaged in animal husbandry.

From August to October 2011, the 115 Geological and Mineral Exploration and Development Institute of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region carried out exploration work. The type of mineral being explored was coal, and the level of work was pre-exploration. The exploration fund was 5.45 million yuan.

(2) Description of results: The cumulative thickness of coal encountered in pre-examination boreholes is 36.11 to 70.00 meters, with an average thickness of 48.56 meters; the maximum thickness of a single layer is 11.98 meters; the burial depth is 180 to 1080 meters; it is initially determined that there are 7 layers of recoverable coal seams, with the maximum recoverable

The area is 720.66 square kilometers.

It is preliminary estimated that the newly added (334) coal resource reserves in Chulun District are 19.300 billion tons. According to the test results of coal core samples, there are about 14.781 billion tons of long-flame coal and about 4.519 billion tons of lignite.

Changyan coal accounts for more than 75% of the total resource reserves.

(3) A brief process of achieving the results. In 2010, the 115 Geological and Mineral Exploration and Development Institute of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region constructed 4 boreholes in Chulun District. Based on a full analysis and study based on previous geological data, it was believed that the area has good coal-forming potential.

Due to the conditions and sedimentary environment, there are several layers of recoverable coal seams with economic value, so a project application was submitted.

It will be implemented after verification and approval by the expert group of the Geological Exploration Fund Management Center of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

In 2011, 6 boreholes were constructed, with a total work volume of 6,999 meters. The coal was found in good condition, providing reliable geological basis for further exploration.
