Products of geographical origin refer to products produced in a specific region and using raw materials produced in a specific region according to traditional techniques, whose quality, characteristics or reputation essentially depend on the geographical features of their geographical origin, and are approved by legal procedures to be named after the domain name of the geographical origin. Seafood has specific regional characteristics, but the materials are not fixed in the world, so it is unprecedented to apply for geographical indications of seafood in the world. Zhoushan seafood, with its special geographical location and seawater conditions, produces unique flavors of "Zhoushan hairtail", "Zhoushan large yellow croaker" and "Zhoushan Portunus trituberculatus", which is world-renowned. In order to better protect Zhoushan's unique natural resources, products and cultural heritage, after repeated argumentation by experts, scientific research units and relevant departments, it finally broke through the convention and set a precedent, and obtained the first batch of geographical indication certification trademarks of seafood in China.
