Dongfeng Motor Corporation (formerly China Second Automobile Manufacturing Plant, hereinafter referred to as Second Automobile Manufacturer) is a key enterprise in the automobile industry. It is China's largest truck manufacturer and the largest domestic auto parts manufacturer. It is also one of the designated car manufacturing enterprises supported by the state.
After years of development, Dongfeng Motor Company has successively built three automobile production bases in Shiyan, Xiangyang and Wuhan. At present, Dongfeng Motor can provide users with four major series: heavy, medium, light and sedan, 8 basic models, more than 150 variant vehicles, more than 170 modified vehicles, and 8 series and 16 types of engines.

Construction and development of Dongfeng Motor Company
1969-1985 was the first entrepreneurial stage, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 medium-duty trucks built Capacity; 1986-1992 was the second entrepreneurial stage, with an annual production capacity of 15,000 heavy-duty trucks, and an annual production capacity of medium-duty trucks expanded to 170,000 units;
Since 1993, it has entered its third entrepreneurial stage. On the basis of building a 150,000-car production base, it has focused on accelerating the adjustment of product structure and reduced the production capacity of medium trucks while developing light vehicles.
In 1997 It has formed a production capacity of 30,000 light vehicles, and by the end of 1998, the cumulative output had reached 98,450 vehicles. With the approval of the State Planning Commission, a 100,000 light vehicle capacity project will be built on this basis from 1999 to 2001.
As of 1998, Dongfeng Motor Company's market share was 11.66%, ranking third in the national automobile industry.
