1. Determination of the size of the handbag:
First of all, the appearance size of the handbag must be determined, and the volume specification of the handbag is closely related to the actual volume of the items contained. If it is too large, it will It’s a waste of paper materials, too small to fit and difficult to handle.
How to install it? Of course, the first thing to consider is how to save space most, so should it be installed horizontally or vertically? Here you need to consider the size of the printing paper. Some things will be very long when installed horizontally, resulting in insufficient printing length of the paper. It is best to print the handbag on the whole sheet instead of printing in half, which reduces the process, saves paper, and reduces the gluing process. Of course, if the horizontal or vertical installation is beyond the scope of the paper, then the only way is to glue two pieces into a bag!
When the paper printing area allows, generally vertically long items are installed vertically, such as wine packaging handbags, cigarette packs and gift bags. In addition, I found items for women, women’s cosmetics, Clothes are generally packed vertically, while men's items are mostly packed horizontally, such as tea, moon cakes, etc. On the market, there are handbags for packaging cigarettes, including two vertical strips, four horizontal strips, four vertical strips, and five vertical strips! For cigarette packs, cartons and gift bags, I personally like the vertical ones, which are easy to take and look better!
Determine the number of items and the way they are placed. Measure the maximum size of the items, and then start to determine the size of the handbag. Generally speaking, the length should be longer (about 10mm), and the width can be less. Make it a little wider (about 5mm). I am opposed to exaggerated packaging, such as a certain cigarette gift bag containing two baggy cigarette packs. It looks too spacey and cannot fit 3 or 4 items, which consumes materials and does not look good. For example, if you put two handbags, just make them a little wider around. In this way, although the bags are small, they feel very real, and the gift will appear real and satisfying! I don’t feel stingy!
After the appearance size of the handbag is determined, it is time to start drawing the knife pattern. Don’t rush to start designing the copy. Draw the knife pattern first. At least each indentation line must be drawn. The knife pattern must be drawn first. Sure, there will be less changes to the internal graphics and copywriting in the future! Otherwise, every time the drawing is moved, the inner drawing will have to be adjusted!
2. Drawing of knife pattern drawings
Handbag knife pattern drawings can be drawn in CAD software, or in AI, FH, CD and other software. Depends on the expertise of the design and production staff. The drawing sequence is to draw the large surface first, then draw the adhesive mouth and other creases, then adjust the details, and finally check the dimensions.
Take the technical drawing of a handbag I drew below as an example to illustrate a few things to note:
1. The four sides of ①②③④ are the first to determine the size. Generally Generally speaking, the width L of the ① surface is 0.5-1mm smaller than the width A of the ③ surface. This is to facilitate the folding in after gluing the handbag. At the same time, the pasting surface is retracted to prevent the edge from being close to the crease and the adhesion is not tight.
2. According to the width A of ③, the distance B between the front and back creases and the lower end can be determined. Because the angle at K is 45°, the distance at B is half of the width at A.
3. The width G of the single-sided paper at the bottom of the handbag is half 1.5 times that of B. This distance is mainly to ensure the fastness of the adhesive. This distance can be adjusted according to the actual size of the printing paper. Does not affect the appearance size of the handbag. But it must be at least greater than half of the width A at ③, otherwise the two sides will not stick together! Of course it must be smaller than the width of A.
4. Half the width of the adhesive mouth F is 20mm, but it must be less than half of A! There is an adhesive line at the adhesive mouth, which must be indicated. The bleeding area (3-5mm) at the adhesive mouth should be avoided. It can be reduced appropriately according to the width of the paper.
5. The height P of the folding block on the handbag is generally 30-40mm. At least it should be 5mm greater than the distance from the edge of the rope hole.
6. The distance between the rope hole and the upper edge is generally 20-25mm. There is no fixed limit. When punching holes, you need to avoid key graphics and text parts to avoid affecting the appearance. The distance between the fingertips of the two rope holes is generally 2/3 of the width of the handbag.
.Note that there are only 8 rope holes on the layout, and the upper edges are symmetrical! Don’t forget the four holes for stringing on top when drawing!
7. When drawing, pay attention to the crease lines on the sides and adhesive areas to be drawn accordingly! Otherwise it will be difficult to fold the box.
8. Indicate the weight or thickness of the paper, mainly so that the knife manufacturer can determine the height of the knife and line. The general paper for handbags is 250g-300g cardboard. The thickness of 250g white cardboard is generally about 0.31mm, and the thickness of 300g white cardboard is generally about 0.4mm.
9. Indicate the bite direction so that the knife plate bite is consistent with the printing bite.
10. Dimensions must be clearly marked and arrows must be pointed in place. After marking, check carefully. At least the local lengths in the same direction add up to the overall length!
3. Appearance design and process development
1. Appearance design should generally be consistent with the color and style of the object to be installed. I believe that ordinary designers will have no problem. It is best to reflect the characteristics of the industry.
2. The main graphics and text in the front and back design should be avoided at the creases! It is best not to have pictures or text on the side where several crease lines intersect, otherwise the creases will have a great impact on it. Just like designing a cigarette pack, avoid creases on the back.
3. If the handbag paper is inconsistent with the inner packaging material paper, they should be as close as possible in appearance. For example, if the box inside the cigarette bag is silver laser printed and screen snowflaked, it can be The handbag is covered with a matte film, which is closer to the inner packaging.
4. The coating should be smooth, especially the light coating. The glue will be unevenly applied and it will easily become damaged!
