Wuchang Lake belongs to Anhui Province.
Wuchang Lake is located in Wangjiang County, Anhui Province on the left bank of the Yangtze River. It is the collective name for Chihu, Wuchang Lake and Qingcao Lake. It belongs to the Yangtze River system and is part of the ancient Leishui relics. It is a valley stagnant lake formed by river siltation and water accumulation. Wuchang Lake is a freshwater lake with a flat bottom, mainly composed of silt, and gradually slopes from east to west. Its elevation is 10.70 meters in the east, 10.00 meters in the Wuchang Crossing, and 9.50 meters in the west.
Wuchang Lake is 27.5 kilometers long from east to west, and has a maximum width of 8.0 kilometers from north to south. The lake is fed by many tributaries, and the lake water directly or indirectly flows into the Yangtze River through the artificial rivers Xingfu River and Xinzhang River. The lake area has developed fisheries and has made important contributions to the local economy. The rivers flowing into Wuchang Lake:
1. Wenshu River, which starts from Luoziba in Liangquan Township, flows north through the middle of Taoling Township, and ends at Bailianzhou in Taici Township North of the pump station, the Huiyi River flows out of Hengshan Mouth and flows into Wuchang Lake.
2. The Yixi River rises from the northeastern part of Cuiling Township, flows northeastward through Cha'an Township, passes through Wujia Shangwu in Taici Township, turns due north, and meets Manjusri in the north of Bailianzhou Pumping Station. The river flows to the mouth of Hengshan Mountain and enters Wuchang Lake.
3. The Luxin River is now heavily cultivated along the river, and the port no longer exists, leaving only the stone bridge over the stream. It starts from Tianfutang in Changling Township, flows eastward through Liangquan Township, passes Maojiachi and enters Wuchang Lake.
4. Xingfu River is a river channel that releases water from Wuchang Lake. It starts from Saikou Town, flows north through Saikou and Zhongzhou Townships, and merges into the Wanhe River. The total length is 20.50 kilometers (including 3.50 kilometers of the river section manually dug in 1959), with a catchment area of ??94 square kilometers, a river width of 200 to 400 meters, and an elevation of 10.10 to 9.00 meters at the beginning and end of the river.
5. Xinzhang River, a flood discharge channel in the reclamation area dug manually in 1974. It starts from the new gate on the northeastern shore of Wuchang Lake, crosses the Dazhang Lake Reclamation Area eastward, and enters the river through the Zhanghu Gate. The north bank of the river is Zhongzhou Township, and the south bank is Dawan Township. The total length is 12 kilometers, the width of the river bottom is 20.00-60.00 meters, and the elevation of the head and tail bottom is 10.30-9.94 meters.
