Moreover, the quality of hairtail in Zhoushan is well-known at home and abroad, and many vendors pretend to be hairtail in Zhoushan from other places for profit. In China's market, about 4% of hairtail comes from Vietnam, and more are hairtail from other sea areas such as the South China Sea. The hairtail heads in these places are more prominent, and there are bumps on the back. The skin is very thick and it is not easy to scratch, and the scales are not easy to fall off. The meat quality is not as good as Zhoushan hairtail.
