The frame number is located in the lower left corner of the windshield, on the right side of the passenger seat, and in some cases in the engine compartment. The engine number can generally be seen directly on the engine.
The domestic vehicle frame number is half composed of 17 digits and letters, and their respective meanings are as follows.
Numbers 1 to 3 (WMI): World Unified Indicator, who produced it. Digits 4~6: car type, configuration of the model, and appearance code.
Digits 7~9: Indicates the engine type code; the type of gearbox; inspection and maintenance positions are generally represented by ten numbers from 0 to 9 or the letter "X".
Number 10~11: The "date of birth" of your car, which is generally not much different from the actual year; indicates the assembly factory, 0 indicates original factory assembly.
Digits 12 to 17: Production sequence number. This is the production batch of your car.
