Rushan City belongs to Weihai City, Shandong Province, and is named after Darushan in China. The cultivated species of Rushan Oyster is Pacific Oyster, mainly in raft culture mode, and the cultivated areas are distributed in the open waters of Rushan Mouth and Langnuankou.
Rushan, located on the golden south bank of Shandong Peninsula at 37 north latitude, has a coastline of nearly 200 kilometers, and the first-class seawater quality can use 654.38+0.7 million mu of sea area, making it one of the top oyster producing areas in the world.
Suitable temperature, salinity, fertile water quality and rich basic bait make Rushan oyster have the qualities of big head, tender meat and delicious taste, and the trace elements such as protein, fat, zinc, iron, manganese and copper per 100 grams of oyster meat are even better than similar products.
Oyster culture
Oyster farming is a characteristic industry in Rushan, but influenced by traditional habits, oyster farming in Rushan used to be "sowing in spring and harvesting in autumn". Because there is no island off Rushan Bay, there are big waves in summer, and there are many attachments in the seawater in summer, the survival rate of oysters is not high and the output is low, which seriously restricts the development of oyster industry.
In 2000, the technicians of Rushan Marine Fisheries Bureau returned from studying abroad and jointly developed the oyster culture technology of "sowing in autumn and harvesting in spring" with China Ocean University. Semi-finished oysters are purchased from other places in September every year to start breeding, and harvested from June 165438+ 10 to April of the following year.
This culture mode avoids summer storms, shortens the culture cycle and greatly improves the survival rate of oysters. Now this farming model has been fully promoted in Rushan.
