How will the Cyprus trademark be audited?
After the Trademark Office accepts the application for trademark registration, the examiner will search the trademark and conduct substantive examination of the registration. If the examiner thinks that the application does not meet the requirements, he will notify the applicant in writing that it will not be accepted, and the applicant shall reply or apply for a hearing within the next two months, otherwise the application will be withdrawn automatically. The examiner may attach certain conditions to the approved trademark registration or request to give up part of the exclusive right. For any decision of the examiner, the applicant may bring a lawsuit to the court. After passing the examination, the trademark shall be announced, and any third party may raise a written objection to the trademark within 2 months from the date of the trademark announcement and explain the reasons. Within 2 months after the object receives the copy of the objection, the object must submit the defense reasons supporting the trademark application to the official.
