How much does it cost to renew the trademark and what materials do you need to prepare?
Hello!

Trademark renewal fee:

The validity period of a trademark is 10 year. After the expiration of the validity period, the renewal of a trademark actually extends the protection of the trademark. To apply for trademark renewal, in addition to paying a certain fee, you also need to submit certain materials. As far as the current trademark renewal fee is concerned, basically every application for renewal registration needs to pay a fee of 2000 yuan. If you submit an application for renewal of registration within the extension period, you will also need an extension fee from 500 yuan. According to relevant regulations, the trademark is valid for 10 years, and the trademark can be renewed 12 months before the expiration. The official renewal fee is 2000 yuan. If no application for renewal is made during the renewal period, the Trademark Law also stipulates that the trademark will be renewed for six months after its expiration. If the extension period is submitted, the Trademark Office will charge 500 yuan, and if it entrusts an agent, it will pay some corresponding fees.

If the trademark is renewed 12 months before the expiration of the validity period, the registration fee for trademark renewal is 2000 yuan. If the trademark expires within 6 months (also called renewal), the 500 yuan official fee will be paid more, that is, 2,500 yuan. If you need to entrust an agency, you need to pay a certain agency fee. The agency fee varies according to the qualification level and service quality of each agency, generally within 500- 1000 yuan.

Materials required for trademark renewal:

In China, there are regulations on the service life of trademarks, and each trademark can be used for ten years from the time it is licensed.

After ten years, if you want to continue to use it, you can renew it. Trademark renewal, like trademark registration, requires the preparation of corresponding materials, but there are also differences:

(1) Application for trademark renewal registration

(two) a copy of the applicant's qualification certificate confirmed by seal or signature.

(3) Submit the power of attorney of the entrusted agent, and directly submit the agent's ID card and copy in the trademark registration hall (the original will be returned after comparison).

(four) a copy of the registration certificate

(5) If the application documents are in a foreign language, a Chinese translation signed by the translation agency or agency shall also be provided.

According to the provisions of Article 34 of the Trademark Law, if the objected trademark is approved for registration after it is ruled that the objection cannot be established, the time for the applicant to obtain the exclusive right to use the trademark shall be counted from the date of expiration of three months after the announcement of preliminary examination. Therefore, if the trademark is still in the process of objection, objection review and objection review, it may apply for renewal within six months before the expiration of the validity period;

Failing to apply within this time limit, a grace period of 6 months may be granted.

Our bureau will decide whether to approve the renewal according to the final result of objection, objection review or litigation. If the trademark is finally rejected for registration, our bureau will not approve the renewal application, and the application fee can be refunded.
