Source: It is the root of the dicotyledonous plant Apiaceae.
Efficacy: Provides analgesia, dispels wind and dampness.
Indications: Treating external symptoms, headache, dizziness, joint pain, limb spasm, red eyes, sores and tetanus.
Meridians of nature and flavor: warm in nature, sweet and pungent in taste. Enters the three meridians of liver, spleen and bladder. This species is a poisonous plant included in the Chinese Plant Atlas Database. Its toxicity is that when mice are intraperitoneally injected with a small dose of root ether extract, their activity decreases, and when a large dose (1000 rug/kg) is given, they die after 2 hours.
Usage and dosage: Oral administration: decoction, 1 to 3 qian; or take into pills or powder.
