The first question is how to choose the cooperative manufacturers in the market. The choice of cooperative manufacturers needs to pay attention to two aspects: one is quality, and the other is strength. Although the price of products with their own trademarks is usually more than 20% cheaper than those with manufacturers' trademarks, the quality of their own trademarks should not be reduced. Originally, private trademarks have always been considered as low-priced and low-quality. If there are some quality problems, the implementation of the whole private trademark strategy will be seriously hindered. Therefore, retailers usually require higher quality of their own brand products. When selecting potential suppliers, factors such as product quality, production capacity management level and geographical location should be carefully considered. On the other hand, retailers should pay more attention to manufacturers with overcapacity and weak market development ability, and these manufacturers are more willing to cooperate with retailers wholeheartedly. After selecting the manufacturer, the merchant should also test all the indicators of the product at any time, and send special personnel to accept or go deep into the production enterprise to participate in management when conditions permit, so as to ensure that the product quality truly meets the market demand.
2. Relationship with manufacturers
Retailers need to think about whether the relationship with manufacturers is controlled or equal. Many retailers rely on their terminal market control rights to oppress the profits of manufacturers in order to seek greater benefits. This is not a wise move, because private brand products are the result of cooperation between the two sides, and both sides should rely on each other. Frequent change of manufacturers will increase the transaction cost of retailers, affect the supply rhythm of goods, and be unfavorable to retailers. Some retailers "bully the weak and fear the hard" and increase profits by lowering prices, which is very short-sighted and freezes the relationship between the two sides.
