Can trademark review be heard in public during trademark review?

Trademark review can be heard publicly. However, only at the request of the parties or actual needs can the decision be made to conduct a public review of the review application. The parties shall be notified in writing 15 days before the public review, informing them of the date, location, reviewers and other relevant content of the public review.

Legal Basis

Article 68 of the "Civil Procedure Law of the People's Republic of China"

Evidence shall be presented in court and submitted by the parties Cross-examine each other. Evidence involving state secrets, business secrets and personal privacy shall be kept confidential, and if it needs to be presented in court, it shall not be presented in a public hearing.

Article 134

The hearing of civil cases by the people's courts shall be conducted in public, unless they involve state secrets, personal privacy or otherwise provided by law.

In divorce cases and cases involving business secrets, if the parties apply for a closed trial, they can be heard closed.

Article 156

The public may inspect legally effective judgments and rulings, except for content involving state secrets, commercial secrets and personal privacy.
