How to preserve chestnuts:
1. air drying and preservation: put raw chestnuts in a cold water bucket, soak them for seven to ten days, then take them out, put them in a bamboo basket, and hang them in a ventilated place to air dry naturally, which is beneficial to killing insects and bacteria, preventing germination and prolonging the preservation time.
2. Ventilation preservation: Keep fresh chestnuts in a cool and ventilated place, spread them out, and don't pile them up, so as to ensure that chestnuts are kept in a ventilated environment, which can prevent chestnuts from sprouting.
3. Bag air drying: spread the fresh chestnuts in a container, air dry them in a cool and ventilated place for 2-3 days, then put them in a bag and hang them in a cool and ventilated place, shaking and impacting 1-2 times a day. This kind of storage time is long and it is not easy to cause chestnut germination.
4. Refrigeration: expose the fresh chestnuts in the sun for about a day, then peel off the shells and put them in fresh-keeping bags, tie them tightly and put them in the refrigerator for refrigeration. It can improve the storage time of chestnut and reduce the germination of chestnut, but it should be noted that chestnut should be shelled.
5. Mixed storage and preservation of sawdust: Fresh chestnuts and sawdust are mixed in a cool and ventilated place, or they can be stored for a period of time to prevent the occurrence of chestnut germination.
