1. "Double Happiness" brand cigarettes are traditional high-quality flue-cured tobacco products with a strong aroma and mellow smoke flavor. They are listed as "National Famous Cigarettes" and "Shanghai Famous Trademarks". In 1906, the father of "Double Happiness", the patriotic overseas Chinese brothers Jian Zhaonan and Jian Yujie founded the Nanyang Brothers Tobacco Company. The next year, the "Double Happiness" brand cigarettes came out. In an era of turmoil and personal misfortunes, the double meaning of happiness and wealth contained in "double happiness" touched people's deepest desires. Because of its high quality and low price, it became popular among the people.

2. In the early days of liberation, the sales of the Class B cigarette bank brand of Nanyang Tobacco Company's Shanghai manufacturing plant declined in the Shanghai market. In order to open up sales in the Shanghai market, the company redesigned the Double Happiness brand logo and changed the tobacco leaf formula. In September 1951, the Double Happiness brand trademark was approved and production began. In 1959, Nanyang Tobacco Company's Shanghai manufacturing plant was transferred, and the Double Happiness brand cigarettes were officially produced by the Shanghai Cigarette Factory No. 2. In July 1991, the Shanghai Cigarette Factory launched the Double Happiness brand blended with expanded shredded tobacco. The new product has become a hot product; the annual output from 1984 to 1992 was 211,970 boxes.
