What is Tencel?
Tencel is not what we traditionally call "Tiancel". Tencel is the domestic name. Its scientific name is "Lyocell fiber" and it is a pure natural cellulose fiber.
Lyocell is the name of a new type of regenerated fiber and is an internationally accepted name. Lyocell is a large category, similar to cotton, silk and other categories.
TENCEL is a registered trademark of Austrian Lenzing Company, and is registered as "TENCEL" in China. Tencel is one of the most well-known brands of Lyocell, which means that Tencel is Lyocell, but Lyocell is not necessarily Tencel.
The technology of Tencel
Tencel is a brand-new fiber produced by solvent spinning method using coniferous tree pulp as raw material. It can be decomposed in the soil to generate fertilizer, which can be spun into a new type of fiber. There is no waste water discharge in the silk process, which is truly environmentally friendly. It is also known as "green fiber in the 21st century".
Tencel has the "comfort" of cotton, the strength of polyester, the luxurious beauty of wool fabric and the unique touch and soft drape of silk.
