Standards for the Management of Food Nutrition Labels
Article 1 is to guide and standardize the labeling of food nutrition labels. This specification is formulated to enable consumers to make reasonable food choices, promote balanced dietary nutrition, and protect consumers’ right to know and their health.
Article 2 When nutrition labels are displayed on prepackaged foods sold within the territory of the People's Republic of China and the People's Republic of China, they shall comply with the management provisions of this specification.
If national laws, administrative regulations and standards provide otherwise, the relevant provisions shall apply.
Article 3 The state encourages food companies to display nutrition labels on the products they produce.
Based on the implementation of this specification and the health needs of consumers, the Ministry of Health determines the food varieties, nutritional ingredients and implementation time for mandatory nutrition labeling.
Article 4 The nutrition label referred to in this specification refers to the description that provides consumers with the nutritional information and characteristics of food, including the nutritional ingredient table, nutritional claims and nutritional ingredient function claims.
Article 5 Nutritional ingredients table is a table marked with the name and content of food nutrients. Nutritional ingredients that can be marked in the table include energy, nutrients, water and dietary fiber, etc.
Article 6 When food companies indicate food nutrition ingredients, nutritional claims, and nutritional ingredient function claims on labels, they should first indicate energy and the four core nutrients of protein, fat, carbohydrate, and sodium and their contents.
In addition to the above ingredients, food nutrition labels can also indicate saturated fat (acid), cholesterol, sugar, dietary fiber, vitamins and minerals.
Food companies should label the energy and four core nutrients specified in the first paragraph more prominently than the labeling of other nutrients.
Article 7 Nutritional ingredients on nutrition labels should be expressed in terms of content per 100 grams (ml) and/or per serving of food, and the nutritional ingredients contained in the Nutrient Reference Value (NRV) should also be indicated. percentage. The definition, measurement method, labeling method and sequence of each nutritional component, and the allowable errors of values ??should comply with the provisions of the "Guidelines for Labeling of Food Nutritional Compositions".

Article 8 Nutrition claims refer to the description and explanation of the nutritional properties of food, including:
(1) Content claims: refers to claims describing the energy or nutrient content levels in food. Claim terms include "contains", "high", "low" or "none";
(2) Comparative claims: refers to comparisons with the nutrient content or energy value of similar foods that are well known to consumers. claims. Claimed terms include "increase" and "decrease".
Article 9 Nutritional ingredient function claims refer to claims that a certain nutrient ingredient can maintain normal growth, development and normal physiological functions of the human body.
Article 10 The functional claims of nutritional ingredients in nutrition labels should meet the following conditions:
(1) The functional effects of the claimed nutritional ingredients have a recognized scientific basis and have nutrient references value (NRV);
(2) The claimed nutrient content in the product should comply with the requirements and conditions of the "Guidelines for Food Nutrition Claims and Nutritional Function Claims";
(3) ) should use the relevant standard terminology for nutritional ingredient function claims in the "Guidelines for Food Nutrition Claims and Nutritional Ingredient Function Claims".
Article 11 Nutrition labels should be true and objective, and must not be false or exaggerate the nutritional effects of products. Any product labels and promotions must not delete or add nutrition claims and terms, nor may they express or imply the effect of treating diseases.
Article 12: Based on scientific development and actual needs, the Ministry of Health is responsible for adjusting the nutritional labeling, nutritional claims and nutritional functional claims involved in food nutrition labels, and publishing them to the public in a timely manner.
Article 13 The format of food nutrition labels shall meet the following requirements:
(1) The content of the nutrition label shall be expressed in the form of a "box table". Article 14 Nutrition labels should be in Chinese. If foreign language signs are used at the same time, their content should correspond to the Chinese language, and the foreign language symbols must not be larger than the Chinese symbols.
Article 15 The values ??indicated on food nutrition labels can be obtained through food composition calculation or product testing. Calculation records or test reports should be complete and authentic for verification and traceability.
Article 16 The following prepackaged foods do not need to be labeled with nutrition labels:
(1) The daily consumption of food is less than 10 grams (g) or 10 milliliters (ml);< /p>
(2) Packaged raw meat, raw fish, raw vegetables and fruits;
(3) Food with a total packaged surface area of ??less than 100 square centimeters (cm2);

Article 17 Food enterprises shall produce and operate food that meets nutritional requirements, and strengthen quality control in food production, preservation and transportation processes.
Article 18 Food enterprises shall be responsible for the authenticity of nutrition labels and assign professionals to be responsible for the production and review of nutrition labels. Before food leaves the factory, the contents of the label must be checked and must be qualified before leaving the factory.
Article 19 If false or incorrect nutrition labels mislead consumers and cause health damage, food companies shall bear corresponding responsibilities according to law.
Article 20 This specification will come into effect on May 1, 2008. If previous regulations on food nutrition labeling are inconsistent with this specification, this specification shall prevail.
Article 21 These regulations shall be interpreted by the Ministry of Health.
